With the strong return of the Y2K retro trend, hand-woven candy-colored belts have become a new focus in the fashion circle, especially popular among Gen Z consumers.

According to data from cross-border e-commerce platforms, the sales volume of Y2K-style ladies' belts in the third quarter of 2025 increased by 210% year-on-year, of which hand-woven styles accounted for more than 65%, and candy-colored models such as pink and blue were in short supply for a long time.

The currently popular Y2K belts are mostly hand-woven with high-quality patent leather, matched with unique canelé pin buckles, combining retro texture and sweet-cool style. Such belts can not only match daily clothing such as jeans and pleated skirts, but also serve as a styling highlight to enhance the outfit level, suitable for diverse scenarios such as dates and music festivals.

A fashion analyst said that the popularity of Y2K accessories reflects young consumers' pursuit of personalization and nostalgic elements. It is expected that the relevant market size will exceed 800 million yuan in 2026, and design elements such as hand weaving and candy colors will still dominate the trend.
